A los impacientes jóvenes

Aprende a callar

Aprende a esperar

Mientras tanto hay que caminar

Que andar

Que estudiar

Esperar
Esperar
Aprende a mentir
Si es para defender la verdad
Aprende a decir
En lugar de golpear
Aprende a cubrir
Y guardar lo que haz, algún día, de amar

Christmas time

Fire-flies flying round everywhere, beating their soft innermost wings in the warm air. Summer is placed. Year’s end is nearer to its fate. Family gather its loose never-lost members. The the lights of the Christmass tree are glittering. And the village is full of activity. Children playing, singing, enjoying. Elders in the rush of preparing. Just in the nick of time, an old fellow comes from the grand city; uncle Julio. The table is set and the asado is almost ready. We are now sitting at the big table; grandfather, grandmother, and everybody beneath, are gathered in holy communion. We have still not forgotten, the sacred commandment, have we forgiven?; be one and no one shall bother thee; do commit and be family, because there beyond there’s only solitude, the plain of disgrace, and the broad road of vacuity. But, is it?

Darkness

Log, 31st October 3070.

In a small galaxy, some million light years away from anything known, a different kind of life started to develop a long time ago. Little is known about the bases for that life form. There are certain interesting things about the evolution of that kind of life. First of all, the species do not need the light of a start to keep their existance. Secondly, they are not made out of any matter at all (whatsoever). In addition, communication is through magnetic impulses through the ether; they have no planet, no gravity centre or any other external force that would keep them together at one point. They are floating about without a course to follow. Finally, and the most surprising aspect, they seem to own a sort of unknown intelligence. At least, this is true of some specimens I’ve managed to catch, thanks to the equipment set on this ship. I have been studying them for quite some time now and I have been able to get a good deal of information about them. The terms I will now employ in their description are non-scientific since anything known in science up to 2050, the year of our departure from the Earth is of no use to me in making a picture of them and even to understand certain facts properly.

At first sight, they appear to be an empty hole, similar to the appearance of a black hole. Everything disappears inside them. They can generate, apparently, some kind of magnetic energy with the purpose of communication only; though they look as if they were not very gregarious individuals. The production of magnetic energy is done on still unidentified resources so far; but anything that comes inside the range of these creatures is disintegrated; leaving no remains of the subject matter. I say that this is a kind of life because they have quite an autonomous way of behaving, out of the physics and universal rules of movement. They can move easily and avoid certain obstacles I put on their way.

The last few days have been really exciting. Until very recently, I’ve managed to keep them safely inside a special restricted area. Now they appear to have improved their defense mechanisms, so to speak, and have been able to make it out of their confinement.

I regret to inform that by now most of the crew has been devoured into the unknown darkness of their cores. Those things absorb anything that gets on their way and make it disappear at once. I have locked myself up in a quite safe deck of the ship, but I don’t think we will make it through. I am positive about them finding a way of finishing with us all.

I realize I don’t have much time left, so I am telling you. BE CAREFUL! These creatures are extremely hazardous and can bring any life form in the universe to an end. They have already assimilated the data stored in our computer system. They must know of our planet and civilization. Maybe I have underestimated their potential, but if you are not to take any actions to prevent a catastrophe, our planet and culture will be completely destroyed and the human race will perish along with everything that we cherish. Only a piece of darkness drifting away will remain.

Captain Geoffrey Cornwall, Biogenetics Tech Co.

31st October 5090.

The starship belonging to BT Co., a ghost ship, with no crew on it, enters terrestrial atmosphere. It’s been said that they have failed to complete their mission: searching for extraterrestrial life form.

We can see that its interior is black as coal, and little by little, the cask of the entire ship begins to disappear, as happens then with the rest of the sky, and of the solar system.

Hidden

I could not possibly know if what I am about to tell is the definite and ultimate truth. But deep down, in the bottom of my soul, I truly believe it is.

There was a time when happiness touched her so profoundly, that every now and then. I am almost obliged to assess that that state was what ever her life was meant to remain like. Those early memories still haunt her every night, when on the vigil of something remotely similar, she was constantly finding herself looking for some original dream to hope for; and then she finds it unbearable, the very thought of dreaming in an ephemeral trivial sleep.

In the depth of her nostalgia, the cause of her suffering, may rest in the utter reason of her joy in life, outcrying a voice without reverberation, the deafness of the copious walls that surrounded her spirit, and the shoulder that ever missed; she longs still what she does not have; the chance to see.

Joahnnesburg

I see the slope

Slowly turning down
I see the hope
Suddenly coming up
I see the course
Of silver and gold
Placidly going south
To the sea
To the ground
Not chained
Not the sounds
Not this time

Did I take so much?
Sir, do you consider me nuts?
I asked for food
Not compassion
I asked for understanding
Love, tenderness, maybe
A little of action

Abandoned

Some people indulge in money, and when asked for some help, they are more than willing to give some greens, and hide behind the iron curtain of greed. Some people indulge in beautifulness, and they sometimes cannot befriend beautiful people unless for convenience. Some people indulge in self-righteousness and are unaware of what is happening around them. I used to indulge a lot in myself, and contrary to what you may expect, I would say of it, I do not consider it as much of a guilt so as to feel embarrassed about it. Because I indulged in my own faults, my own mistakes, and I still can trust people better than me, and I am still able to recognise when I am wrong, and I am still capable of feeling sympathy. What I am no longer capable of, is seeing this world with naïve eyes; something that I terribly miss.

The tenth, will be twenty-five years exactly to the date. I do not look at these people with contempt any longer. I look at them with empathy, as if I would be looking at a mirror myself. I know I can not expect the same thing from most of them, but at least I know that I do it, not to receive something in exchange, but to do what I think is right for my self to proceed.
